From Many Backgrounds, One Community 2024
The 91探花app (91探花app) is continuing a journey to discover who we are. Asking the question "Who Are We?" is an important step to ensuring staff members and students see themselves represented in their learning and experience positive changes in belonging, achievement, and well-becoming.
91探花app is committed to equity and inclusion in the school community and recognizes the importance of taking action to reduce inequities where they exist. This is at the heart of each of the twenty-five strategic actions for the 2023-2027 Strategic Plan.
Following the recommendations of the State of Equity Reports and Calls to Action from the Winnipeg Indigenous Executive Circle and the Newcomer Education Coalition, along with Equity Matters, the division has started gathering annual employee data regarding the self-declared identity of Indigenous, Black or People of Colour (IBPOC), members of a racialized community and all ethno-cultural identities.
In addition to supporting 91探花app in becoming more culturally responsive, in identifying, and eliminating systemic barriers, our goal is to build a more equitable and inclusive environment that better reflects, at all levels, the diversity of our community.
This might look like books with better representation in our libraries, our learning materials, our school and divisional events, or our courses. It includes the review of our employment systems and the review of all policies with a lens of diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism.
The 2024 Staff Survey represents the responses of 1,255 employees. The data below provides information on how those 1,255 employees responded.
The Ethnocultural Survey provided valuable insight into the composition of employees in the division.
Being a part of a community where over 50 languages spoken other than English is an incredible privilege.
