Spirit Week:
NMC Student Leadership has planned a fun Spirit Week!
Spirit Week will run from April 28th till May 1st:
- Monday – Hobby/Sport Day
- Tuesday – Style Day
- Wednesday – Teacher/Student Swap
- Thursday – Decades Day
NMC Thrive Project – School Mural:
As part of our ongoing efforts to gather meaningful student voice and strengthen our school community, we’ll be asking students two key questions:
- What do I need to thrive?
- What kind of school community do I want to be a part of?
Their responses will help us better understand student needs and aspirations and inform school planning. The ideas gathered will also be used to inspire a school mural, created with local artist Bruno de Oliveira Jayme, as a visual representation of our collective vision for a thriving community that will come together on May 5th. We can’t wait to hear from you!
NMC Truth and Reconciliation Garden and Backyard Project
We are preparing to plan and plant in both our front and backyards. We are seeking student, staff and parent volunteers to support the beautification of our school yard. Students will gain volunteer hours towards volunteer credit. Jobs will include spring clean-up, new planting and garden maintenance. If you are interested, reach out to Kim Adair-Gagnon (Principal).

Tuesday (April 29)
The Community Room will be open for students who wish to catch up on school work or work on their resume.
Thursday (May 1)
Indigenous Youth Leadership meets at lunch in the Community Room to plan for our Learning from the Land gathering on May 22 at The Forks. Luch will be provided.
Cultural Connections with Caregivers in the Community Room from 1:30-3:30. All are welcome to join us, lunch will be provided.

May 15 Cooking with Chef Nancy! Join us in learning how to make perogies. You will be able to take home a traditional Ukrainian Canadian meal to share with your family. Space is limited, please email me to reserve your space.
May 22 Learning From The Land at The Forks
Caregivers are invited to attend our Indigenous Youth Leadership gathering at The Forks where 91探花app high school students will be leading events and activities surrounding the theme of learning from The Land in traditional Indigenous ways.
(We will not be gathering at Nelson McIntyre this day.)
May 29 Cooking with Chef Nancy! We will be making a take home a meal. Space is limited, please email me to reserve your space.
